🍔 Part 3 – Buffet and Casual Dining (included in your cruise fare)
The Windjammer
This is the main buffet, located on Deck 11 aft, just behind the pools.
It’s a large U-shaped buffet, split into two sides with the same food selection on each, which helps keep things moving, with the two sides meeting in the middle.
It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, although there isn’t a continuous service between meals. There’s also a bar as you walk in, as well as a fountain soda machine if you have a drinks package.
For breakfast, there was plenty of choice, from cereals, pastries and fruit to a classic cooked breakfast, with a good selection of eggs and plenty of sweet treats.
The only downside of a breakfast buffet? Trying to get a piece of toast while it’s still hot! 😂
Lunch offered a good mix too, from hot dogs, burgers, chicken goujons and chips, through to curries and stir-fries. There was also a salad bar, a selection of meats and a speciality dish each day. Pasta and soups for something lighter as well.
It was always busy and, for me, it wasn’t the most relaxing place to eat. However, it was perfect if you wanted a quick bite, or something to take back to your room.
Casual Dining
Also on Deck 11, poolside, is El Loco Fresh, open during pool hours and offering a quick Mexican takeaway option. Think rice, beans, meats, wraps and a salad bar. Perfect for grabbing something while you’re around the pool.
And let’s not forget the free soft-serve ice cream machines by the pool! 🍦 These were definitely popular, especially with the kids!
Deck 5 – The Promenade
Moving downstairs, we have Café Promenade, open 24/7, offering hot and cold drinks, including complimentary coffee, plus sweet treats, wraps and sandwiches. There were tables available, or you could simply grab something and go.
At the other end of the Promenade was Sorrento’s, the onboard pizza spot with tables. Serving pizza until very late, it also had its own bar. Another easy option when you wanted a snack or when heading to or from a show or event.
