1s November Driving Day!

Yes it is technically November... but it is still Halloween weekend!

So with that being said...

👻Why not come along and have a family fun day out!
Along with the normal proceedings of a driving day, Jade (clubshop) and Jessie (media) have organised some fun activities for SLROC members children if they wish to attend!

🕷️In the clubhouse, there will be activities such as:

Decorate your own trick or treating bag Decorate your own halloween ornament
Stick the eyeball on the zombie and refreshments will be available
Alongside this... we are extending the lunch time break (only shortly) ... for SLROCS first ever....

🎃TRUCK OR TREAT🎃

A Few Land Rovers will be positioned around the course and given treat bags to hand out, to the participants, these will consist of: sweets, chocolate and fun Halloween goodies

This is a trial where participants will REALLY need to work as a TEAM! As the terrain is particularly challenging especially with the trial going into the night! 🌓

🗣️Driver and winch person will need to communicate accordingly and clearly to work through the sections.

To participate you will need:

🕷️A full driving license

🕷️A winch Sail/blanket is required - 1 kg dry weight (if you have a rear/ centre winch and are intending to use it, you are required to have an additional winch sail/blanket for this aswell.

🕷️ A Extinguisher is required -2 kg dry powder- secured to vehicle, Advisably mounted out of drivers and passengers way- the fire extinguisher should be accessible from the driver's seat, while not being near the crew's heads - and located out of the way so it could not get under the pedals.

🕷️ Compulsory thick gloves of either non woolen/ non rubber-for example rigger gloves

🕷️ Crash helmets are optional but advised to be worn!

🚨 NO RESTRICTIONS ON LIGHTS!🚨

🔦But a head torch for your winch person is necessary!

The above is required along side the normal requirements for a trial which are stated below.

🕸️ Minimum age of a driver is 17 - MUST have a full license, With a trial experienced passenger
🕸️ Minimum age of a passenger is 16 (winch person)
🕸️ Cost to participate is £40 (this includes driver and winch person)
‼️YOU MUST HAVE A WINCH‼️
🕸️Drivers MUST be accompanied by a passenger willing to be a winch person!
🕸️You MUST have suitable vehicle recovery points needed (front and rear)
🕸️Vehicles have to pass scrutineering. (12pm-1:45pm for a 2pm start)
🕸️ You MUST be a member AND additionally have a RS CLUBMAN license gained through MSUK, to take part in trial.

We are going to Stonham Barns Events Land Rover Show on the 4th of October!
We hope to see many of you there!

Sneak peak into the work that goes in to keeping our club site up to running order on our maintenance days!
Without the help, we couldn’t do it!

Abstract pcm for replacing rotten decking
And of course, Mansfield 4x4 (Bury St Edmunds) Ltd for supplying fuel and fence paint! And, as always appreciated, the trophies for Sundays trial 🙏
And to all our members who spent their Saturday maintaining the courses, cleaning the cabins, painting and fixing what needed to be fixed!

This weekend! We are welcoming Beginners to come along, we will have trial experienced members available to sit passenger and help ☺️

TYRO TRIAL- BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME!
📍Our club site, Newbourne, Woodbridge

Please see below for details!

SUNDAY-TYRO TRIAL.
Suitable for any Land Rover, experienced or not (13+)
We will have trial experienced members at the ready to jump in passenger with you if you are a beginner!

Please arrive at 9am to ensure your vehicle has passed scrutineering for entry of the course.

Course opens at 10am for vehicles to compete through sections in the trial and closes at 4pm with an interval for lunch around midday!

⚠️ To take part in the Tyro Trail:⚠️

🟡You MUST have suitable vehicle recovery points needed (tront and rear)
🟡Vehicles have to pass scrutineering. (9 am - 10 am)
🟡You MUST be a member AND additionally have a RS CLUBMAN license gained through MSUK, to take part in trial.
