Yesterday's wedding was a bit unusual so to save any embarrassment we'll keep the location details secret. There were two pick-ups and then a short run to the wedding venue. At the second pick-up there were guests waiting but as they got on, others including the bride got off and walked away.

The driver was then advised that there would be a delay.

After a while we the bride re-appeared so we carried on and all went well.

The cause of the delay was that the gentleman who was to give the bride away had forgotten his trousers and various high speed car journeys were called for to remedy the situation.

Our latest acquisition E11BOC is being put to good use. Bought from Whincop's of Peasenhall this 57-seater is perfect for us. Pictured here solo at Hill Farm, Framsden, and with V57KWO in Lowestoft on a school trip to the beach. The children were Nursery and Reception classes and were so excited to see the sea.

We nearly picked up an extra child at the pick up in Lowestoft when a small child waiting with parents for a bus decided he was going to get on and had to be hauled off by anxious ma and pa.

The video of the clock seems to have gone astray. Here it is with fascinating soundtrack. The loud buzz is from my phone, not the clock!,

A school outing to the Food Museum at Stowmarket (previously known as The Museum of East Anglian Life). It's a fascinating place set in a huge area and well worth a visit. Please see the pics.

There's a short video of the 17th century mechanism of the Stowmarket church clock.

E11BOC is our latest acquisition.

Yesterday's wedding proved to be a challenge. The groom had booked Ermintrude to arrive and park near the church at 12.45 until called forward by the Best Man to load nearer to the Church at about 13.00. By 13.15 with no contact, Ermintrude moved down to the church as the call hadn't come. However, the times were wrong and the wedding wasn't due to start until 13.00. The 13.00 departure took place at 14.25.

The river Fromus runs close to the church and of course it had a supermarket trolley in the water.

Then there was a stately progress of 10 miles up the A12 towards Lowestoft, with Ermintrude leading several cars carrying guests and a further queue of other motorist extending back over the horizon.

Needless to say the return journey (empty) took place along quieter roads.

Views from the cab of TE7870 - 93 yrs old & still going strong! Sat 11th June on shuttle bus duties for Rendlesham Show. The video's a bit wobbly because of vibration and bumps in the road - apologies for this.

Sat 11th June saw Ermintrude (aka TE7870) providing the P&R service for the Rendlesham Show. All seats were taken on several runs and we were privileged to carry the Anglo-Saxon King Raedwald of East Anglia and two of his warriors on one of the trips. They must have been on a day off from exhibiting themselves at the National Trust Sutton Hoo burial site and seemed to enjoy the ride. Also in attendance was an Anglo-Saxon lady, our own Carole who was our clippie on the now discontinued Aldeburgh-Thorpeness sea-front service.

Since 21st July Ermintrude has completed four days on the Seaside Special route as well as two weddings and a private hire, averaging about 70 miles on each occasion and achieving about 6mpg. The bus service has gone rather well and passenger numbers are increasing each time it runs. The engine has behaved itself and romped away with a full load on at least two occasions. There are 13 more days scheduled and all details are on our website - bucklandbuses.co.uk.
