Huge thanks to the RNLI for their swift action in Woolacombe this week — as featured on ITV News — rescuing swimmers caught in a powerful rip current 💙

Their vigilance keeps keep our beaches safe, and we're so lucky to have them watching over our stunning bay.

If you're heading in for a dip, remember:
🚩 Always swim between the red and yellow flags – it’s the safest spot, closely monitored by lifeguards.
🌊 Spot a rip current? Look for choppy, darker water with fewer breaking waves or a channel of foamy water moving out to sea.
🏊‍♂️ Caught in one? Don’t panic or try to swim against it. Float on your back and tilt your head up so your ears are submerged but airways out of the water, try to relax your body and keep afloat using your hands to paddle, shout for help and wave to catch people's attention, if you can swim try to swim parallel to the beach untill you are out of the current.

Let’s enjoy the sea safely and always respect its power.
