Here is Worcesterโ€™s beautiful Old Palace ๐Ÿฐโœจ

Built for the Bishop of Worcester in c.1200, during the reign of King John, the Old Palace has witnessed some of the most fascinating chapters in Worcesterโ€™s history.

๐Ÿ‘‘ In 1575, Queen Elizabeth I and her council stayed at the palace during her visit to Worcester.

โš”๏ธ Almost 70 years later, during the Civil War, the palace became the setting for a council of war. Worcesterโ€™s governor refused to surrender to Parliamentary forces, ultimately leading to the Siege of Worcester in 1646.

The building remained the official residence of the Bishop of Worcester until 1846, when it was sold to the Dean and Chapter of Worcester Cathedral for use as a school.

A beautiful building with over 800 years of history right at the heart of Worcester. โค๏ธ
