Behind every visitor welcomed, every business supported and every story shared is a bigger picture.

Over the last year, This is Wrecsam has helped generate more than £716,000 in additional visitor and business spend, welcomed 385,000+ additional visitors to Wrexham, reached over 1 million people through supported activity and represented Wrexham and North Wales on the international stage through major travel trade events including ITB Berlin, UKInbound and BTTS.

These aren’t just numbers. They represent people choosing to visit Wrexham, stay in local accommodation, enjoy local attractions, eat in local restaurants and support independent businesses across the County Borough.

From showcasing Wrexham at international travel trade events to helping visitors discover things to do in Wrexham, our focus remains the same: creating opportunities for local businesses and growing a visitor economy that benefits the whole area.

Yes, we love our letters… ❤️

Since they were unveiled, it’s been brilliant seeing visitors, locals, businesses, schools and community groups all stop for a photo, sharing a little piece of Wrecsam with the world.

But the Queens Square letters aren’t the only WRECSAM letters worth visiting.

A special mention to the bug hotel letters at Tŷ Mawr Country Park. Set beneath the Cefn Viaduct and overlooking the River Dee, they’re surrounded by stunning scenery; riverside walks, woodland trails, wildlife, farm animals, picnic areas and the world-famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct just a short distance away.

Created to support biodiversity as well as celebrate place, they’re a brilliant example of nature, creativity and tourism coming together in one unique spot.

Whether you’re exploring the Dee Valley, walking to the aqueduct or simply soaking up the views, it’s a reminder that Wrexham is so much more than a city-centre destination.
