Wrexham really is the perfect gateway. Whether you’re heading into North Wales or venturing across to North West England, we’re incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many fantastic places to explore.
This trip was a fantastic reminder of exactly that. We explored the full 11 mile Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing how the region can be packaged and promoted to future visitors. From walking across the historic Chirk Aqueduct, celebrating its 225th anniversary this year, with stunning views of the neighbouring Chirk Viaduct and its impressive architecture, to kayaking across the iconic Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, discovering the ongoing regeneration at Trevor Basin and travelling on the Llangollen Heritage Railway, the day showcased the very best of the region. It also highlighted the strength of our tourism offer of multiple counties working together and the passionate businesses and volunteers who bring it to life.
Stay with us and you’ll find world class attractions right here in Wrexham, along with countless hidden gems just a short drive away. Whether you’re planning a weekend break or a longer stay, there’s so much waiting to be discovered.
