Work progressing well for Hanworth Villa FC! ⚽

Another 3G complete near Caerphilly! 🏉

Here are some images from our recent 3G reconstruction project at Risca Leisure Centre.

Starting as an old sand-dressed surface and finishing as a state-of-the-art 3G rugby and football facility, the local community is delighted with their brand-new sports hub. ⚽

With just a few external landscaping enhancements to go, scroll through to see the transformation. ➡️

Surfaced with the Trocellen shockpad and topped with the Desso IQ3 60mm system with SBR infill, this facility is sure to upgrade the sporting opportunities for Caerphilly County Borough Council — and we’re delighted to see the local school already making the most of it.

We’re excited to share some stunning drone images from our full-size 3G pitch construction at Hamilton Leisure, Wolverhampton. 👷

Delivered alongside Hindley Contractors Ltd , this project is being carried out as a full design and build scheme.

So far, it has included extensive earthworks and ground preparation, a complete kerb system, brand-new floodlighting, an engineered tarmac base, and even a gabion wall design surrounding the pitch.

Once complete, the facility will be surfaced with the reliable TigerTurf Premier Pro Elite 50, and we look forward to delivering this high-quality transformation for the local community. ⚽

Built from the ground up in partnership with Bowmer and Kirkland , this vibrant new facility features full perimeter fencing for enhanced security and is quickly approaching completion.
🌱 Surfaced with Edel Soccer Twinblade 35-18, it contains no microplastic infill, using sand only to create a top-quality surface that remains sustainable.

A few weeks ago, we completed this vibrant MUGA resurface in South Park, Wandsworth. 🏀

This stunning facility included a brand-new macadam playing surface, fresh line markings, new basketball equipment, and even a painted club logo to enhance the design.

It has been a fantastic addition to the Green Flag Award-winning space in Fulham, and we hope the local community continues to benefit from it for years to come.

Our Business Growth Consultant, David Leed, attended the Act sports Juventa Hybrid Turf Supportive Information seminar earlier this month. Here is what David had to say on the seminar ⚽ :

"I had the privilege of spending a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable few days in Dortmund last week.

A real highlight was the visit to Borussia Dortmund’s iconic Westfalenstadion, getting a behind-the-scenes look at such a legendary venue was inspiring in itself. But what truly elevated the experience was attending the ACT Sports Juventa Hybrid Turf Supportive Information seminar.

The depth of insight shared around Lay and Play systems, from development and application to their potential for transforming stadium environments was outstanding. I left with a head full of ideas and a real sense of excitement, especially around the upcoming lift and transfer to the training ground. It’s a bold and innovative step and I’ll be following its progress with great interest.

Above all, a heartfelt thank you to our hosts ACT Sports . The openness of the discussions, the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals from many European Countries and the genuine warmth and hospitality made it an experience to remember."

St. Cenydd School 3G Pitch Nearing Completion! 🏉 ⚽
Our brand-new World Rugby and FIFA Quality 3G pitch at St. Cenydd Community School in Caerphilly is nearing completion!

With only some final landscaping enhancements to go, it won’t be long before the school and local community can enjoy this state-of-the-art facility.

This has been a new build facility, built from the ground up, including:
✅ Site excavation 👷

✅ Full groundworks, kerb system, stone base and engineered tarmac layer

✅ Brand-new fencing and floodlighting systems

✅ Trocellen shockpad topped with Desso IQ3 60mm system with SBR infill

✅ Line markings for rugby and football

Full size 3G for Hanworth Villa FC ⚽ !

Works are well underway at our full size 3G pitch project for Hanworth Villa FC at Rectory Meadow.

These images showcase the soil strip process taking place as we begin to create the formation for the pitch that will provide a durable and weather-resilient playing surface that can be used by the club all year round.

Works are progressing well at Cotswold Sports Centre in Reading, where we’re transforming an old tarmac court into a state-of-the-art 3G pitch. ⚽

This upgrade includes new edging, fencing, and improved floodlighting, all designed to enhance local playing conditions.

Replacing the edgings without disturbing the existing tarmac base is a technically demanding task, requiring precision and experience from our installation team. ⚒️

Once complete, the new surface will offer a durable, high-quality facility that supports community sport for years to come.

Huge congratulations to Surbiton Hockey Club on an incredible weekend of playoff action! 🏑

The Men’s First Team clinched the Premier division title, while the Women’s First Team finished runners-up after a fiercely contested final. Both teams showed real grit and talent throughout — a brilliant end to the season.

We’re honoured to sponsor Surbiton and support their journey at the top level of English hockey.

Last year, we delivered two full size FIH Certified Hockey Pitches for the senior teams and one training pitch for the junior members, we are proud to have contributed to this year's success.

Last night, our CEO was pitch side at Hanworth Villa FC , cheering on the team during their crucial Isthmian League – South Central Division Play-off Semi Final — a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Ascot United.

As official shirt sponsors this season, Blakedown is proud to support Hanworth Villa both on and off the pitch. Next week, we begin work on the first phase of the club’s redevelopment plan — the installation of a FIFA-compliant 3G pitch at Rectory Meadow.

The project includes groundworks, drainage, surfacing, and landscaping, ensuring the site is fully prepared for safe and effective use. These facilities will provide a durable and weather-resilient playing surface, supporting the long-term development of the club.
