All 3 of our apartments now come with their own coffee grinders so that our guests can enjoy the freshest and most flavourful coffee. All of our coffee comes from Yorkshire based North Star Coffee Roasters who provide us with beautiful, ethical coffee that not only tastes good but does good 🙌

The latest tourist attraction in York is proving very popular with visitors and locals alike and is just a 5 minute stroll from our apartments 😏🙌✌️

We previously posted about the books we bought for our holiday lets to mark this year’s International Women’s Day. The books hadn’t arrived in time for IWD but here they are now in all their glory! The colours of the covers match perfectly with the decor in Seebohm 😘

A description of each novel is below. They really are must reads 💪✌️🙌

DETRANSITION, BABY (Torrey Peters)
Longlisted for the 2021 Women's Prize, Detransition Baby explores themes of family, motherhood, and identity, through the experiences of three characters (transgender and cisgender) whose lives collide after an unexpected pregnancy.

IF I HAD YOUR FACE (Frances Cha)
Set in the drinking dens and beauty salons of Seoul this is a novel about impossible beauty standards, female strength, resilience, and friendship.

For this year’s International Women's Day we have bought some of our favourite novels for our guests to enjoy. We have chosen novels written by women that explore gender inequalities and have the potential to inspire societal change.

The books we have chosen are:

It’s that time of year when North Star Coffee Roasters gifts their Festive Blend to the world.

This year’s version is like tucking into a box of festive chocs. With notes of milk chocolate, cranberry, marzipan & almond it’s packed with the flavours of the season.

We hope our guests will love this one as much as we do 😘🎄🌟

Another fantastic coffee shop has opened in York.

The Divine Project is a collab between Divine Coffee Roasters & North South York

It’s a really gorgeous space to sit back and relax and the coffee is beautiful 😘

The coffee scene in York is top notch and this place is another great addition.

Criminally Good Books is a relative newcomer to York’s indie business scene.

Inspired by a lifelong passion for reading and a love of crime fiction, Isla wanted to create an inclusive space & community hub for fellow crime fans.

This absolute gem is just a 7 minute walk from our apartments, right in the heart of the city. A real plus for guests who are looking to curl up with a good book while they are staying in York.

Next up, Brazil two ways! When North Star Coffee Roasters released our guests' favourite single origin Brazil Montanari in decaffeinated form we thought it would be fun to offer our guests the opportunity to hold their own taste test challenge.

So, if you are staying with us in the next couple of months, why not take the challenge and see if you can pick out which one’s the decaf. We failed, will you?

The decaffeinated Brazil Montanari is sweet and creamy with notes of hazelnut, milk chocolate, and orange, just like its caffeinated twin 😘
