I took this picture of the Ash tree that had to be cut down along Bradford Dale. I put the picture into ChatGBT to ask about its life and how old (65 years, harder environment for last 25 years) then asked it to write a poem, the result is below and quite surprising at the quality and emotion..
⸻
Bradford Dale Ash
In Bradford Dale it lifted high,
Through rain and quiet years,
Its rings held sun, its roots held stone,
Its leaves knew joy and fears.
It grew with storms and summer light,
With frost and gentle rain,
Until one wild and roaring night
The wind broke root from plain.
Now fallen still it softly keeps
The seasons in its grain—
An ash that lived with hill and sky,
And will in earth remain.
