Some gardens are grown from seeds, while others are inspired by generations of love for nature. 🌺🌿

Meet Gemma Fleming, the owner of Gemrose Garden, also known as Gem Rose Eden, one of the participating gardens in the Grenada Flower & Garden Festival 2026.

Located in St. David, Gemrose Garden is a reflection of family, passion and a love for gardening that began with Gemma’s mother, who would collect small pieces of plants and nurture them into something beautiful.

Inspired by early childhood memories, Gemma decided to create a garden of her own when she retired, naming it after herself and her daughter, Rosemary.

Today, the garden is home to a beautiful mix of fruits, flowers and vegetables, with two distinct spaces to explore: a sunny garden at the top and a lush forest garden below.

We sat down with Gemma to learn more about her gardening journey and the special experience she hopes to share with visitors.

National Heroes Day is a time to reflect on the individuals whose vision, determination and unwavering commitment to our country have left a lasting legacy. Their contributions remind us of the strength, resilience and unity that continue to define us as a people.

Across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, we celebrate the rich heritage, enduring spirit and shared values that make our tri-island nation truly special.

As we honour the heroes of our past, may we continue to draw inspiration from their legacy, embrace our collective responsibility to build a brighter future and preserve the traditions and values that make us proudly Grenadian.
