On our tour around with Ace Ventura Tours, Curlin (sp) had sneakily picked up some fruit from the spice market for us to try later on in the tour! 😚 So in this lil’ clip I check it out, fresh from the source and see what it’s all about!

Soursop (Annona muricata) is a tropical evergreen tree from the custard apple family, known for its large, spiky green fruit with a creamy white, fibrous pulp that tastes like a mix of strawberry, pineapple, and citrus. Also called graviola or guanábana, the fruit is eaten fresh or used in juices and desserts, while the leaves are used in traditional medicine, though scientific evidence for many claims is limited. The plant thrives in warm, frost-free climates with full sun and well-drained soil.

Plant Characteristics:
Type: Broadleaf Evergreen Tree
Size: Up to 26’ Tall
Leaves: Large, Glossy, Oval-Shaped
Flowers: Yellow/Green w/Thick Petals

Fruit & Uses:
Flavor: A unique blend of sweet and tangy tropical fruits like mango, pineapple, and banana.
Texture: Creamy and fibrous.
Consumption: Eaten fresh, blended into smoothies, or used in custards, ice creams, and drinks.
Seeds: Large and black; should not be eaten.
