Where is Martvili Canyon and What is There to See?

The region was once a part of the Dadianis' summer estates while they were in control of the region that is now Samegrelo. The canyon's tourist center, which is located in the town of Inchkhuri and is surrounded by lush Colchic forest, is accessible through a 700-meter roundtrip route that leads deep within the forest. There are fifty stairs created from limestone rocks along this pathway, two natural bridges you'll pass along the way, and three viewing platforms where you may take in the beauty of nature.

Floating along the Abasha River

You'll find rubber boats and guides waiting for you on the Abasha River's beach. Six people can fit on each boat, and you will be given specialized gear including helmets and life vests. Once you're all set up, you'll begin traveling down the 300- to 350-meter-long section, and if you want, you may even guide the boat with the captain.

The river's route will be followed by the boat as it passes between moss-covered rocks; in the midst, there are a few miniature turquoise waterfalls that are cascading down.

Dzama Valley

The Kintsvisi monastery complex, which dates from the XII-XIII century and contains magnificent frescoes, the XVII century Mdzovreti fortress, the Kozipa monastery, which consists of five churches, the Gugomi complex, and the Dzama fortress are just a few of the numerous monuments in Shida Kartli's Dzama Valley.

Dzama Valley is famous for its peaceful calm natural beauty. For instance, Shuano Mountain, which is located 2350 meters above sea level, provides a spectacular, expansive perspective. You might also go to Bateti Lake and the nearby forest, which are 1313 meters above sea level and close to Bateti settlement. It is said to be especially beneficial for the neurological and respiratory systems. Similar to the Dzama, the Tkemlovanistskali River Gorge is well known for its mineral springs.

The 25-meter high waterfall next to Abukhalo mountain is a noteworthy feature. You may access Bardzimjvari top through the Abukhalo pathway, which provides stunning views of the entire Kartli Region.

Gomismta

One of the top spots on the list of resorts in the Guria Region belongs to the climatic resort Gomismta (Gomi Mountain). It is situated at a height of 2,100–2,755 meters and 33 kilometers from Ozurgeti City. The "Resort in Clouds" is yet another name for Gomismta.

Healing at Gomismta

Gomismta was once used by shepherds to graze their cattle throughout the summer. Even though there were only 20 dwellings on the mountain in 1902, the locals were aware of the air's health advantages.
Gomismta's air, which has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of diseases including minor types of asthma, rickets, chronic bronchitis, and chronic TB, is made by combining mountain and sea air. As a result, the climate resort has high visitor traffic from June to September.

Gomismta in Winter

Extreme sport fans go to Gomismta in the winter because of the up to three meters of snowfall that the area receives.
After walking an additional 9–10 kilometers, you may reach the peak via road. It could be necessary to cut through untracked snow. In Gomismta, nobody lives permanently, and homeowners only visit the resort in the summer and early fall.
Please take note that the paths are not signposted, thus for safe navigation hire a guide, ask locals for assistance, and use GPS.

Hiking and Camping

Due to its fantastic hiking paths, Gomistmta is a popular destination for travelers. Twelve kilometers separate the Chinchao Volcanic Lake, twenty kilometers separate the Kintrishi Natural Reserve, twenty kilometers separate the Bakhmaro Resort, and twenty kilometers separate the Meriyakeli Resort.
There are wooden country cottages all across the resort, but many guests choose to sleep in tents. Spend the evening outside under the stars, which seem to be touching you.

The location of Prometheus Cave

Prometheus Cave is a karst cave 60 to 70 million years old in the town of Kumistavi, around 40 kilometers from Kutaisi. The cave is 1.8 kilometers long, 40 meters deep, and seven meters wide on average.

What can you expect to see in Prometheus Cave?

Prometheus Cave has twenty-two caves of varying sizes, six of which are open for tourists: The Cavern of the Argonauts, Kolkhetian Cavern, Medea's Cavern, The Cavern of Love, Prometheus' Cavern, and the Iberian Cavern.

The pedestrian trail through the caverns is little under 1.5 kilometers long, includes a 380-metre boat segment. The boat ride is extremely exciting since it is accompanied by ambient music and lighted by unusual lights. It's similar to crossing the mythical river Styx.

Up to forty different kinds of insects, invertebrates, and molluscs live in the caverns together with 19 different types of water plants. The cave contains the skulls and remains of a cave bear, starfish, mollusks, and other Cretaceous Period species.
