📜 Mtskheta was the ancient capital of Kartli, the East Georgian Kingdom, from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD.
📜The complex of the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in the center of the town includes the cathedral church, the palace and the gates of the Katolikos Melchizedek that date from the 11th century, built on the site of earlier churches dating back to the 5th century. Svetitskhoveli is famously known as the burial site of one of the greatest Christian relics - Christ's mantle.

Historical details:

-Sighnaghi is a small town in the east of Georgia situated on the mountainside in the historical region of Kakheti. It was founded in the 17th century during the reign of King Erekle II of Georgia,

-Sighnaghi wall with the length of about 5 kilometers and 23 towers was built in King Erekle II's times, Sighnaghi Wall is still considered to be one of the most important historic monuments in Kakheti and throughout Georgia.

-Sighnaghi has wonderful views over the Alazani valley to the Caucasus beyond

-The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe ( is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex and the seat of the Bishops of Bodbe located 2 km from the town of Sighnaghi).

-Saint Nino reposed in the village of Bodbe in eastern Georgia and, according to her will, she was buried in the place where she took her last breath. King Mirian later erected a church in honor of Saint George over her grave.
