Need a break from the news cycle? 🏔️✨

Sometimes the best way to reset is to look back at the classics that remind us what really matters. If you haven’t seen it yet (or even if you have a dozen times), today is the perfect day to watch Mimino.

This legendary Soviet-era masterpiece starring the iconic Vakhtang Kikabidze is more than just a movie—it’s a soulful journey about friendship, longing for home, and the dreams that connect us all.

Why you should watch it today:
• The Landscapes: You’ll see breathtaking scenes from Tusheti, one of the most remote and beautiful mountain regions in Georgia.
• The Heart: It’s a masterclass in humor and human connection that transcends borders.
• Easy Access: It’s available for free on YouTube with high-quality English and French subtitles, making it perfect to share with international friends.

Take 90 minutes to step away from the headlines and immerse yourself in the warmth of Georgian culture and the spirit of the Caucasus. 🇬🇪✈️

The story of Niko Pirosmani is one of the most hauntingly beautiful and tragic tales of love in art history.

Pirosmani was a self-taught Georgian painter who lived in extreme poverty. In 1905, he fell deeply in love with a French actress named Margarita de Sevres. The legend says that on her birthday, Niko sold everything he owned—his small house, his shop, and all his paintings—to buy every flower in the city.

Nine carts filled with roses, lilacs, and anemones were sent to her house, turning the square below her balcony into a sea of blossoms. Margarita was moved and rewarded him with a single kiss, but she soon left for France and never saw him again. Pirosmani spent the rest of his life in solitude and poverty, passing away in a basement just as his fame began to bloom.

This February 14th, as we celebrate love, let us remember Niko’s sacrifice. May your love be as grand as a million roses, but more importantly, may it be returned and shared for a lifetime. 🌹✨

⚠️ IMPORTANT WEATHER ALERT: Heavy Snowfall in Georgia ❄️

Dear Guests and Friends,

While Tbilisi looks absolutely magical covered in white today (Jan 18), we need to share a serious safety update for the next 24+ hours.

What is happening? Heavy snow is falling across the entire country. Temperatures have dropped significantly, and visibility is very low.

⚠️ Current Hazards:

Roads: Many roads to the regions (Kazbegi, Gudauri, etc.) are currently closed or extremely dangerous due to ice and lack of cleaning.

City Safety: Walking in Tbilisi is slippery. Please be very careful of falling snow and ice from house roofs.

Infrastructure: Due to the weight of the snow, power shutdowns are possible in some areas.

Our Strong Recommendation: Please DO NOT travel to the countryside or outside Tbilisi today or tomorrow. The risk of getting stuck on the road is very high.

The Best Plan for Today? Stay warm in the city! 🍷 It is the perfect time to enjoy indoor activities: 🏛 Explore the National Museum. ♨️ Warm up in the famous Sulfur Baths. 🥟 Join a Georgian Cooking Class and learn to make Khinkali!

The Good News: The forecast shows weather improving starting Wednesday, Jan 21. Until then, please stay safe, keep warm, and watch your step!

If you have a tour booked with us in the next 48 hours, our team will contact you directly regarding schedule changes.

Stay safe!

Well, we made it! The holiday rush has officially settled, the confetti is cleared, and Tbilisi is breathing that crisp, quiet winter air. We survived the madness, and honestly? This might be our favorite time of year. ☕️❄️

If you’re wondering "what now?" as the winter chill sets in, we have some pretty incredible news to share.

Tbilisi has been named a Tripadvisor "Best of the Best" Trending Destination for 2026! 🏆

To put that in perspective: out of 8 million listings worldwide, fewer than 1% achieve this. It’s awarded to places that people are truly obsessed with—the ones "worth the hype."

But here’s the thing: we know you aren't looking for the "default" tourist experience you find in a mass-market guidebook. You want the soul of the city.

Winter is the perfect time to really see Tbilisi without the crowds. We’re out there every day, walking the line between the old and the new:

The Right Bank: Chasing the classic stories and hidden courtyards where time seems to have stopped.

The Left Bank: Exploring the "on-the-up" neighborhoods and backstreets that most people walk right past.

Beyond the city walks, we’re already looking toward the spring blooms and summer escapes. A quick heads-up: our Tusheti off-road group tours for the upcoming season are filling up incredibly fast. It seems everyone wants that "off-road escape" this year! 🏔️🚙

So, if you’re in town, let's grab a warm coat and go for a walk. No crowds, no scripts—just the stories that make this city the best in the world.

Planning your 2026 adventures? Drop us a message. We’d love to help you plan something that feels human, not handled. 🇬🇪✨

As 2025 comes to an end here in Georgia, our hearts are so full. We want to pause for a moment and say a huge, warm thank you to all of you.

This year was full of real, marvelous moments. We remember the early mornings at Europe Square by the old tram café, the dusty roads to the Rainbow Mountains, and the long, beautiful days in Truso Valley. We are especially proud of our 18 group tours to the wild beauty of Tusheti! It was a dream come true to share those mountain passes with you.

To everyone who traveled with us – solo adventurers, families, and old friends – thank you for your trust. You didn’t just book a tour; you shared your life with us. We remember the laughter in the cars, the deep talks over lunch, and the peaceful silence in the high mountains.

2025 was not an easy year for Saqartvelo. It was a complex and emotional time for our people. But you still came, and your support truly mattered. Your visits helped real families and a small local team doing its best every single day. We are so thankful for your kindness and for standing with the strong people of this country.

Behind the scenes, there was a lot of hard work. Our team was busy fixing cars late at night, driving long distances, and checking the mountain roads to keep everyone safe. But no matter how tired we were, we always showed up with a smile, because meeting you gives us so much energy!

A special thank you to our wonderful guides and drivers – you are the heart of Friendly.ge. You don’t just explain history; you share Georgia exactly as it is.

As we step into 2026, we hope to see you and hug you again. We want to sit together, share a bottle of wine, and talk simply like close friends do.

Thank you for being part of our year. Thank you for supporting small local businesses. Thank you for choosing Georgia.

We wish you a healthy, kind, and adventurous 2026! 🌿✨
