50-летняя великая эпоха Католикоса-Патриарха всея Грузии Илии II завершилась.
Сегодня слова бессильны перед той болью, которую ощущает каждый из нас.
Своей кончиной Патриарх ещё раз сумел объединить грузинский народ.
Грузия потеряла духовного отца и символ национального единства.
Мы потеряли человека, который верой, мудростью и безграничной любовью создал целую эпоху.
Его жизнь была светлым примером того, что значит истинное служение Богу и своему народу.
Моисей 40 лет водил Израиль по пустыне, а Патриарх 50 лет вел Грузию и вывел её из пустыни безбожия и неверия.
Патриарх действительно совершил невозможное — начав путь с 30 священнослужителей, довёл число духовенства почти до 2000.
С 1977 года, со дня интронизации, до сегодняшнего дня он привёл страну к возрождению веры, а Грузинскую Церковь — от 40 действующих храмов до 49 епархий.
Его мудрость объединяла, вдохновляла и учила грузинский народ тому, что даже в самых тяжёлых испытаниях нельзя терять веру и надежду.
Именно эта сила сделала его не только духовным лидером, но и символом национального единства.
Сегодня грузинский народ скорбит о величайшей утрате…
И в то же время с благодарностью вспоминает ту огромную любовь и мудрость, которые он оставил после себя.
Его память останется в наших сердцах, в наших молитвах и в нашей повседневной жизни.
The 50-year great era of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, has come to an end.
Today, words are powerless in the face of the pain that each of us feels.
Through his passing, the Patriarch once again managed to unite the Georgian nation.
Georgia has lost its spiritual father and a symbol of national unity.
We have lost a man who, with faith, wisdom, and boundless love, created an era.
His life was a shining example of what true service to God and to the nation means.
Just as Moses led Israel through the desert for 40 years, the Patriarch guided Georgia for 50 years and led it out of the desert of godlessness and disbelief.
The Patriarch truly achieved the impossible — a path that began with 30 clergymen grew into a clergy of nearly 2,000.
Since his enthronement in 1977 until today, he transformed the country into one where faith was restored, and the Georgian Church grew from 40 active churches to 49 dioceses.
His wisdom united, strengthened, and taught the Georgian people that even in the hardest trials, they must not lose faith and hope.
It was precisely this strength that made him not only a spiritual leader but also a symbol of national unity.
Today, the Georgian nation mourns a tremendous loss…
At the same time, it remembers with gratitude the great love and wisdom he left behind.
His memory will remain in our hearts, in our prayers, and in our daily lives.
