Is “Visa-Free” really Visa-Free? 🇬🇭🇲🇦

My Morocco AEVM Nightmare.
As a travel consultant, I’ve handled complex visas for the U.S., UK, Canada, Europe, etc. But getting a simple Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for a fellow African country has been a total failure.

I applied for an Electronic Travel Authorization on Monday, March 30th, for a work trip scheduled for today, Wednesday, April 8th. The system requested more information, which I provided immediately. However, the portal is still preventing me from attaching the necessary supplementary documents to validate and submit my application. I have sent countless emails since last week with zero response. Yesterday, I physically visited the Moroccan Embassy in Accra seeking a way forward. To my absolute disappointment, I was told that this is a “consistent challenge” that many applicants are facing. I was simply told to call a number and share my passport details, the same number I had already called several times without a single answer before even showing up at their gates.

If the authorities are aware of this, why is there no manual workaround or emergency intervention for travelers? For a system that promises approval within 24 to 72 hours, this is a massive failure that is costing people time, money, and sanity.

If you have faced this specific upload error on the Acces Maroc portal and actually found a way to bypass it, please share. Is there any direct contact in Rabat or a specific technical desk that actually resolves these challenges.

Africa’s borders shouldn’t be this hard to cross. We need a system that actually works as hard as our bilateral relations claim to. This is unacceptable.
