We celebrate the importance of Braille in empowering the blind and visually impaired community.

In Ghana, our recent mission focused on integrating disability inclusion into the country's development initiatives. The World Bank financed program carried out by the Government of Ghana reflects our commitment to inclusion.

📌The Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project financed by the Bank builds the capacity of teachers and ensures they are equipped to provide better education to learners with disabilities.
📌Through the Ghana Digital Transformation Project, the World Bank is supporting the Government of Ghana digital inclusion program to provide tailored digital skills training for persons with disabilities and increase their access and use of digital technologies. This enables them to participate actively in the broader labor market.
📌The Ghana Economic Transformation Project has provided over 4M Ghana Cedis to enterprises of persons with disabilities in the form of grants.
📌The Kumasi Urban Mobility Project is being designed to be inclusive to facilitate persons with disabilities access to BRT services.

By providing funding and working closely with local stakeholders, the World Bank Group is committed to fostering inclusion and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can participate in and benefit from development projects.

Together, let's continue to break down barriers and build a more inclusive world for all.
