Intercity STC (ISTC) was founded in 1909 as a government transportation agency to serve the demands of the national government. The State Transport Corporation was established as a legal entity in 1965 by Legislative Instrument (L.I) number 414 of the 9th of March 1965 to manage commercial passenger services. The government established a haulage division in January 1968 to handle the transport of both dry and wet freight. Along with the passenger section, management of this was given to STC as a bulk haulage division. State Transport Company Limited, a Limited Liability Company, was later established as STC in June 1995 in accordance with Ghana's Companies Act, 1962 (Act 179). OUR VISION:

FUEL DEPOTS COMPLETED AT FIVE ISTC TERMINALS
The first phase of the installation of GOIL fuel dispensing depots at Intercity STC terminals has been successfully completed.
The project covers five major ISTC terminals — Accra, Takoradi, Kumasi, Tamale and Bolgatanga — providing dedicated fuel dispensing facilities within the terminals.
The initiative is expected to improve operational efficiency by making fuel readily accessible to ISTC buses, reducing the need for buses to leave the terminals to refuel and supporting smoother service operations.
With all five locations now completed, the successful rollout marks an important milestone in the partnership between Intercity STC and GOIL represents another step towards improving the efficiency and reliability of ISTC's transport operations.
