The Akosomo Dam is the largest of Ghana’s three hydroelectric power plants. The dam is located on lake Volta which covers an area of about 8,502 square kilometers, formed by the confluence of several major rivers in the northern part of the country.

We also invite you to join the popular weekend cruises on the Volta lake to Dodi Island, which is 27 kilometers away from the Dam and takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to visit.
