Visit Amedzofe
If you are looking for a place in the country side where:
1) You can admire and enjoy viewing beautiful scenery of natural endowment in the Region of mountains and mountainous ranges
2) Shallow and deep valleys in a vast stretch of land
3) Very few places in Ghana and elsewhere one can fully and glaringly watch the rising sun coming out of its shell and clothed in solid golden clouds like a bride coming out of a saloon after the latest make-ups or
4) The setting sun going to sleep in the finest golden bed and the sun rays solemnly reflecting on the Volta lake waters that produce rainbow colours as one stands at the Western side of Mt. Gemi, and gazing in awe God’s creation that is marvelous and pleasing to the eye and the mind,
5) The general atmosphere of soothing serenity everywhere one goes in the vicinity,
6) The enjoyment of natural air coupled with the mountain breeze.
7) The only place noted in Ghana as the highest point that is inhabited.
8) And in the season of cold weather, usually between July and September when fog (low and white clouds) invade the town with chilly weather conditions culminating in moisture laden atmosphere, sometimes with only half an hour interval of sunshades, and many more attractions.
Then Amedzofe is your obvious choice where the whole town is naturally “air conditioned” as visitors usually describe it.
Mt. Gemi with a magnificent cross on the summit and Ote Fall with a “hanging Pool” have been very popular and attractive to many visitors.
Nature Trail: This is a new site which has been recently constructed under the sponsorship of Japanese International Corporation Agency (JICA) is in operation. It gives visitors opportunity to experience forest life as they come across species of ancient trees, cocoa and coffee trees, banana and plantain trees, birds and butterflies; and sometimes forest animals and snakes.
Accommodation: Visitors who want to stay overnight will have no difficulty in getting decent accommodation. Currently there are four Guest Houses in town; two home stays and Abraerica Hotel.
