Akpeng bi Dortey's return home was a noble mission, driven by a deep sense of duty to preserve his ancestral land. He had been destined to ascend the Akwamu throne, a role tied to his mother's lineage. However, he chose a different path, sacrificing that title to safeguard his father's legacy from fading into oblivion.

With him, Dortey carried the sacred Akwamu stool, known as Dortey Sei or Ashilikwajaku, the Black Stool, imbued with the ancient powers of his forebears, the revered LƐƐ and the mighty AYAH Deity.

This act forged a spiritual union between Him and the Black Stool, a bond that would shape the people's destiny.

The annual celebration of SEI FAA YAA, established by Nɛnɛ Dortey and his son Nɛnɛ Nuer-tey Bediaku, in collaboration with their wise elders, serves as a testament to this profound connection. It also reinforces the authority and significance of the BLACK STOOL, the DORTEY SEI.

This is what Kpone celebrates, a festival that resonates deep within our souls. It's what we cherish, something worth dedicating our lives to preserving.
