In a significant development, the High Commission of the Republic of South Africa has officially announced a bilateral agreement between the South African and Ghanaian governments regarding visa exemptions for ordinary passport holders.

As of November 1, 2023, this agreement is set to grant Ghanaian ordinary passport holders the privilege of visa exemption for a cumulative period of ninety days per annum.
Under this arrangement, ordinary passport holders from Ghana will be permitted to stay in the Republic of South Africa for up to ninety days in .

Requirements for check‑in at Kotoka International Airport to Dubai

1. A signed, stamped original hard copy of a Negative COVID‑19 RT‑PCR test certificate with a QR code conducted at an approved facility within 48 hours of flight departure time (current flight departure time is 18h50) must be presented when requesting for a COVID‑19 Rapid or Real Time PCR test.

2. COVID‑19 Rapid or Real Time PCR test to be taken on/after 12h50 hours only (within 6 hours of flight departure time ‑ current flight departure time is 18h50 hours).

Customers will proceed to the counter for check ‑in only after a negative Rapid PCR result.
Check‑in Counters closes at 16h50 hours.
