WHY PEOPLE FEEL RELUCTANT TO SPEAK THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE WHEN THEY TRAVEL TO OTHER PLACES

There are several reasons why people may feel reluctant to speak their native language when traveling to other places:

1. Fear of ridicule or judgment: They may worry that others will mock their accent or pronunciation.

2. Language insecurity: Travelers may feel self-conscious about their language skills or fear being misunderstood.

3. Desire to blend in: They may want to assimilate into the local culture and avoid standing out as foreigners.

4. Fear of exclusion: Speaking their native language might make them feel like outsiders or exclude them from local interactions.

5. Language of the destination: If the dominant language at the destination is different, they may feel pressure to speak that language instead.

6. Past experiences: Traumatic or negative experiences when speaking their native language in public may lead to reluctance.

7. Cultural or societal factors: In some cultures, speaking a native language in a foreign land may be seen as impolite or disrespectful.

8. Fear of being stereotyped: Travelers may worry that speaking their native language will lead to stereotypes or assumptions about their culture or identity.

9. Language shift: Immersion in a new environment may lead to a shift towards the dominant language, making them less confident in their native language.

10. Personal insecurities: General self-doubt or lack of confidence may also contribute to reluctance to speak their native language.

Remember, speaking your native language is a beautiful part of your identity, and you should feel proud to share it with others!
Let's try our best to speak our native languages wherever we find ourselves.
Good morning and welcome to Wednesday

1. History: Just like all the Akans lands Takoradi was initially occupied by small group of people said to be Guans

Just like the Guans in Cape Coast and Mankessim, Fantes didn't invade them but rather made them part of them, making huge percentage of the population Fantes and 90% of the indigenous Takoradarian identified with Fantse names

2. Economy: Takoradi is a major industrial and commercial center in Ghana. The city's economy is driven by the seaport, which is one of the busiest in the country, as well as oil and gas activities due to the discovery of oil offshore in the Jubilee Field.

3. Infrastructure: Takoradi is well-connected by road, rail, and air. The city is served by the Takoradi Airport, which offers domestic flights to other parts of Ghana. Takoradi is also connected to the rest of the country by the Western Railway Line

5. Tourism: Takoradi is a major tourist destination in Ghana it has some attractions worth visiting. The city has beautiful beaches such as Busua Beach,Last Hour Beach, Dixcove and many more as well as historic sites like Fort Metal Cross, which was built by the British in the 17th century.**
