This week, the Calypso Tours Driver/Guide apprentice programme concluded successfully, with all five apprentices; Nicholas Macedo, Claudine Caetano, Robert Holgado, Richard Alli, and Samantha Sanguinetti, completing their courses, obtaining the required licenses, and officially becoming full-time Calypso Tours employees. The Graduation ceremony took place on Tuesday 24th June, in the presence of Minister Santos and MH Bland Deputy Chairman, George Gaggero, where each successful candidate was awarded their certificate.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Minister Santos and the Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, with a special mention to Jolene Gomez, for their unwavering support in getting this programme off the ground and contributing directly to its successful completion. We also want to recognise Stephan Perez Catania from Calypso Tours for spearheading this initiative with great dedication. A special thank you goes to Tony Bastinelli and Derek Carillo, the programme tutors, for passing on their invaluable expertise.

There are around 1.5 million seafarers employed by the global shipping industry. Yet, did you know around 33% of ship crews in the world have no means of communication and only 10% have any kind of internet access. Though they may not be in the spotlight, their sacrifices are what keep the world of global trade moving. 🌐🚢

Last week, MH Bland hosted an important meeting with Clubhouse Gibraltar to explore future collaboration opportunities. The discussion centered around potential ways to support inclusive employment initiatives and promote a more compassionate approach to workplace integration.
