Kingfishers Apartments, Bijilo, The Gambia Kingfishers Apartments is a small, friendly, family run complex, providing superior self catering accommodation.

The 4 self contained Apartments all with private verandas, surround a small communal courtyard, garden area and plunge pool. Kingfishers is ideal for couples who want some well earned rest and relaxation ,groups who want a villa type stay with the benefit of retreating to private accommodation, or single travelers who just want to feel safe and welcome. For the enjoyment of our guests we welcome

travelers who are over 16 years old only. Visitors of our guest can be received in our pretty garden situated at the entrance to Kingfishers and we operate a strict patrons only policy in the accommodation area for your safety and comfort. Kingfishers is situated just a short walk to the stunning beach and a 5 minute drive to the lively Senagambia strip. Here, you will find bars and restaurants with food to suit every taste, Lebanese, Indian ,Chinese, European, Italian and of course traditionally Gambian. We will be happy to arrange for you to be collected from Banjul airport which is about 15 minute drive; and only costs around £12 each way but may vary according to fuel prices.

- Time zone is the same as the UK. No jet lag, just start enjoying your holiday as soon as you arrive.
- All rooms have a ceiling fan and air conditioning is available at an additional cost.
- All Apartments have a free safe to keep your belongings secure

In the words of Amadou “Nice to see you later”. Amadou has taken charge of his own destiny, got himself a car and is pursuing his next move as a Taxi driver. We wish him well and admire him in his quest to become self-sufficient. The transferable skills that he has learnt and embraced whilst being here with us at Kingfishers will stand him in good stead for his future.
We have become very fond of him over the last 11 years. He has was a loyal employee and a very good friend. Thank you, Amadou.
We celebrated his time with us and his next chapter with an evening out for the team. He will be missed, for sure, but as he is living close by he will always be welcome for visits with open arms.
