The boat is also equipped with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the captain is a First Aider, certified by the European Resuscitation Council, trained in the main fields of Basic Life Support and use of an AED (last update in 2023). Νέο τμήμα αρχαρίων για την απόκτηση Διπλώματος Κυβερνήτη Ιστιοφόρου Ανοιχτής Θάλασσας ξεκινά στις 12 Μαρτίου 2024 και έχει διάρκεια 8 εβδομάδες.

Περιλαμβάνονται:
- Πρακτικά μαθήματα στην ανοιχτή θάλασσα κάθε Σαββατοκύριακο
- Διαδικτυακή θεωρία μέσω MS Teams κάθε Τετάρτη απόγευμα
- Νυχτερινή πλοήγηση και μανούβρες

Συμμετοχή του σκάφους IRIS σε άσκηση ετοιμότητας φωτιάς σε ελλιμενισμένο σκάφος με και .
Το σενάριο της άσκησης προέβλεπε έκρηξη με πυρκαγιά σε σκάφος ελλιμενισμένο στην μαρίνα με κίνδυνο μετάδοσης της σε γειτονικά σκάφη, τραυματισμό μέλους συνεργείου πού εκτελούσε εργασίες επί του σκάφους και την αντιμετώπιση των παραπάνω συμβάντων με όλες τις προβλεπόμενες διαδικασίες.
