The country received an impressive score of 98.14 out of 100, finishing ahead of Japan, which ranked second with 97.01 points. The results are based on votes from the magazine’s UK readership.
The recognition highlights Greece’s enduring appeal as a global travel destination, combining thousands of years of history, ancient landmarks, spectacular islands, Mediterranean cuisine and crystal-clear waters.
In its coverage, Condé Nast Traveller highlighted destinations including Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, Paros, Hydra, Ios and Tinos, while also praising Athens for its distinctive blend of ancient heritage and contemporary culture.
Greece achieved another major distinction in the same awards, with Hydra being named Europe’s highest-rated island, scoring 98.12 points and narrowly surpassing Italy’s Sardinia and Greece’s Naxos. Six other Greek islands also secured places among Europe’s top 20.
