The “Mycenaean civilization” was one of the most 'wealthy' in antiquity due to the many arts and crafts that developed at the time — from palaces and works of art to writing systems. In Mycenae, burial customs held a very important place in society, which is where the depicted gold mask was discovered.

You can experience the history of Mycenae through our 4-day tour of Argolida, Olympia, Delphi, and Meteora.

In our new logo, the “g”, from George’s Taxi, is connected to the "lines" of the city. These roads carry the history of Athens – and beyond – while at the same time forming part of our identity. After so many years, we know these routes and their stories better than anyone. Yet, we always strive to rediscover them through your eyes as well, as if it were the very first time.

The marbles were transported from the quarry of Penteli, north of Attica, via an ancient road that followed a declining path, making it easier to move such large volumes. The distance is estimated to have been between 15 and 20 kilometers.

It was built in the 2nd century AD by Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife, Regilla, as a venue for musical performances. Over the years, it was destroyed by fire, used as a fortress, abandoned, and covered by soil until it was rediscovered by the archaeologist Richard Shandler. Today, it is one of the most iconic theaters in Athens and hosts cultural events.
