It was built in the 2nd century AD by Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife, Regilla, as a venue for musical performances. Over the years, it was destroyed by fire, used as a fortress, abandoned, and covered by soil until it was rediscovered by the archaeologist Richard Shandler. Today, it is one of the most iconic theaters in Athens and hosts cultural events.

Ancient Olympia is considered one of the most important sites in the world. It was home to the most glorious sanctuary in ancient Greece, dedicated to Zeus. Later, it became the starting point of the Olympic Games (dating back to around 776 B.C.), a tradition that continues to this day. Beyond the historic Stadium where the games took place, the museum houses sculptures from the Temples of Zeus and Hera, where one can also see the famous statue of Hermes, crafted by Praxiteles.

Mythology says that Zeus, in his attempt to find the center of the Earth, released two eagles, and they met at Delphi.

Pythia, the priestess of the Oracle, would deliver the prophecies, which were then interpreted by the priests of Apollo. These prophecies held such authority that they were regarded almost as law, and influential leaders of the time often turned to them for counsel on critical matters, including decisions of war.
