Did you know that : Drinking green tea improves working memory.

Working memory is what allows you to hold onto multiple pieces of information in order to complete cognitive tasks. A recent study found that people who’d taken a shot of a drink with green tea extract showed greater connectivity between two parts of the brain that help control working memory, and they did much better on a test of working memory than those who hadn’t downed the drink. Spot of tea, anyone?

Melanoma is the most common cancer in young women.
It’s the number one cancer diagnosed in women aged 25 to 29, and incidence has increased 50 percent among all women under 40. When it’s found in a late stage, melanoma has only a 16 percent survival rate—but if it’s caught early, the survival rate jumps to 98 percent. Do a self-exam for new or suspicious moles every month (don’t forget to check hidden spots, like your belly button and the bottoms of your feet!), see a dermatologist for an annual spot check, and for heaven’s sake, apply sunscreen every single day.

Eating foods with lycopene can make you less susceptible
to sunburn.
Lycopene, a carotenoid found in red and pink produce, boosts your skin’s natural protective ability. A great source is tomato paste—one study, in fact, found that eating 2.5 tablespoons daily for 10 weeks made people 40 percent less susceptible to sunburn. It’s also delicious. Use it in pasta sauce, chili, soups and stews. But remember that no supplement is a replacement for proper skin protection: Always use sunscreen before you go outside

Sunscreen is good for six months beyond its expiration date.
All sunscreens have an expiration date printed on the bottle, and most are good for three years from the time of purchase. In a pinch, you can use sunscreen for an extra six months—but after that, it’s time to buy a new bottle. Sunscreens break down over time, and can interact with the material the bottle is made of, which can further alter their chemistry. Also, eventually the plastic bottle itself can degrade, meaning that it's possible when you use old sunscreen you might actually be spreading plastic particles onto your skin.
