Tomorrow is going to be a great day for region in : after centuries of oblivion, archaeologist Angeliki Kottaridi restored the palace of king Philip II in Aigai (now known as ) and the place where young lived is opening to the public!

For New Year’s we travelled with our Italian guests from around .
We actually travelled back in time to discover what an ancient city-state was like: we discussed about politics, religion, finance, trade, defence and everyday life in the 5th century b.c.e.

In the first day of 2024 we are visiting with our Italian guests the best preserved ancient Athenian at Eleftherai.
Eleftherai was the border between Athens and Thebes, Attica and Boeotia and the castle is a fine example of classical defensive , in the middle of a wonderful natural landscape!

Many people visiting the of may have noticed just opposite, the domes of the telescopes of the 🏛️ on the hill of the nymphs. What most people do not know though is that inside the area of the observatory the holy area dedicated to the nymphs still exist together with the inscription “ΗΙΕΡΟΝ ΝΥΜΦΩΝ” (sanctuary of the Nymphs).
