🏛️ Knossos Palace is the heart of the ancient Minoan civilization and one of the most famous landmarks in Crete.

This is the place most closely connected with the legend of King Minos’ Labyrinth and the mysterious Minotaur — the creature with the body of a man and the head of a bull.

According to the myth, the hero Theseus came to Crete to defeat the beast. He was helped by Ariadne, King Minos’ daughter, who gave him a ball of thread. Thanks to it, Theseus was able to find his way out of the labyrinth after his victory.
