The Carnival of Corfu takes place in the lead up to Lent, with the climax of the celebrations being a Venetian style parade on the third and final Sunday before Lent begins.

The following day is known as ‘Clean Monday’ when the people of Corfu fly colourful kites, as Clean Monday also marks the first day of spring on the Island.
