We had a huge storm last night - sheets of lightening, thunderbolts, torrential rain but it’s been beautiful today, the sea is still deliciously warm too

It’s been a beautiful day today - warm and clear with deep blue skies, you wouldn’t believe the first snow fell last night on the high mountains in Albania, I expect we’ll be looking across at snow capped peaks until March now

The perfect place to watch the comings and goings of Corfu’s prettiest little harbour - a waterside table

Just five minutes from us, Kouloura really is one of the island’s most idyllic spots with a fabulous fish taverna, a whitewashed Venetian house, a tiny chapel and a couple of quiet little beaches

And if you’re looking for the best kalamari in Corfu (actually anywhere) this is where you’ll find it

The weather is fantastic at the moment - deep blue skies with just the hint of a breeze, it’s due to change later in the week but for now we’ll just soak it up

A beautiful October day here in Corfu ….

Tucked away in the peace and quiet of the hills, it’s easy to forget that the season is still in full swing - perhaps not quite at the heady heights of July and August, but still buzzing away

A trip down to Kassiopi this morning was a reminder that there’s still lots going on - the harbour-side cafes and tavernas were busy, little boats were coming and going and the village was full of life, it really is such a lovely time of year to be here and if you’re thinking of hiring a boat do it, the sea is deliciously warm

Yesterday evening - the last of September’s sunshine, reflected in the pool at a friend’s house up above Acharavi on the north coast - absolutely magical, supper was delicious too - Thai, with Greek w**e, finished with single harvest chocolate from Panzer's Delicatessen

I met a friend for lunch whose husband .co.uk is teaching a pastel sketching and painting course this week and oh my goodness what a fabulous week they have planned painting in some of my favourite spots
