📌 On Good Friday in Greece 🇬🇷, one of the most solemn and moving traditions is the procession of the Epitaphios. ✝️

The Epitaphios is a beautifully decorated bier representing the tomb of Christ, covered with flowers by the faithful. 💐

In the evening, after the service, it is carried through the streets by priests 🙏🏻 and members of the community, followed by people holding candles 🧨 in silence and reverence. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️🚶

The atmosphere is deeply emotional 💙, with hymns echoing 🎼 through the night as the procession passes through neighborhoods.

This ritual symbolizes the burial of Jesus Christ and unites communities in shared mourning 😔 and reflection. 🎗

It is not only a religious event but also a cultural tradition that connects generations and keeps the spiritual heritage of Greece alive. 🇬🇷

This year we picked pictures from the Epitaph ceremony of St. Jacob's Orthodox Church, in Florence / Italy. 🇮🇹
