I failed last night. I had a great hotel in BALI! Bali, Crete, Greece. Today I went to Rethymno, the 3rd largest city on Crete. It's waaaay cooler than Chania or Heraklion! Great "alleys" walking, etc. I went to this Archaeological Museum (gasp! shocker.) The was much smaller and the finds were from some very specific sites near Rethymno. Checked out the HUGE Venetian fort and ended up in my hotel in Pachia Ammon (tiny town on the coast next to a huge dig site on tap for tomorrow!

Full day on Paros. Went to the archeological museum, took a walk down the "boardwalk" and checked out the beach in town. Had a lovely nap 😁 Rented an ATV again to see the island. Found some awesome spots and some disappointing ruins (they are like 4000 years old). Dinner on the port/Marina near my hotel again.

Paros! Took the ferry from Mykonos to Paros, had an excellent late lunch, lil nap and wander town at sunset. The sunsets seem so much more vivid out here.

Today was the day. The grandaddy of them all. DELOS. First ruins were the Minoans 3000BC to 1900NC. Then the Mycenaens, Dorian, Roman Empire, Byzantine, Arab, Venetian and Ottoman Empires controlled this sacred island, the birthplace of the Gods Apollo and Artemis. (She gets almost nothing here)

Missed yesterday. Ferry from Irakio to Mykonos. (I missed Mykonos last fall because of off season weather.) Early morning 5 hour ferry. Then I checked out town in the afternoon. Today I rented an ATV to check out all the beaches that can't be accessed by public transport. I shower and went into town tonight. Madhouse. Tomorrow is Delos! The entire island is an archeology site👏

Last full day in Irakio. Visited the Venetian Port and the famous 4000-3500 year old ruins Knossos 2600-1450BC Mycenaen and Minoan 1450-27BC on top. (Then another big earthquake, then Romans)
I think the Knossos ruins are amazing. However the refurbishment is the view of 1 guy only. Some political thing of course. So however this one dude thought it should look, that's how it is now.

Heraklion/Irakio: Easy day today. Hit the market and the biggest archeological museum in Crete. (Tomorrow I go see the site where most was found). Found a mom and pop (actual husband and wife) restaurant Anand finished the day with a massage then dessert.
