It is a beautiful island with many changes of images and at the same time very interesting. It not only has a Cycladic character, fantastic beaches and beautiful fishing villages, but also many points of archaeological interest as well as a very intense mining activity. This small volcanic island was and remains the largest bentonite, pumice and perlite mining center in Europe and second in the world, but also in the past in the production of sulfur. There is even a mining museum in Adamas.
During a visit to the island, customers will get a taste of everything, visiting the famous Sarakiniko, the lunar-like beach with its white rocks of compacted pumice, the bentonite mines with their impressive images of alternating rocks and colors, which will surely impress, most of all, visitors, Pollonia, a classic Cycladic peaceful fishing village, with small boats next to the beautiful sandy beach and taverns on the waves, serving fresh fish and local meze. Of course, a visit to the capital, the island's town of Plaka, built amphitheatrically on the mountain with a magnificent view, picturesque Cycladic alleys and tiny shops, from which, due to the very short distance, customers will be able to optionally visit the island's famous catacombs, right next to where the Aphrodite of Milos was found. At the end and depending on how the excursion unfolds, they will also have some time in Adamas, the island's port, to explore the beautiful alleys that lead to the church or the mining museum, before the ship's departure.
