Palm Sunday in the Greek Orthodox tradition marks a moment of quiet triumph, welcoming hope, humility, and renewal as Holy Week begins. May this day bring peace and reflection to all who celebrate.

Greek Orthodox Easter isn’t just a tradition, it’s a feeling that lives deep in our culture. From the glow of candles to the quiet prayers and the words “Christ is Risen,” it’s a time that brings us back to our roots, our families, and our faith. A reminder of hope, renewal, and the light that always finds its way through the darkness. 🕯️✨

The Marti bracelet is one of the oldest spring rituals in Greece. Two threads, one red, one white, twisted together on the last night of February and tied around the wrist before you step outside on March 1st.
The tradition traces back to the Eleusinian Mysteries, where initiates tied thread around their hands and feet during secret springtime rites dedicated to Demeter and Persephone. Thousands of years later, Greek kids still knot string around their wrists and run out the door on the first morning of March.
We wrote about where the tradition comes from, what the colours mean, why no two regions in Greece agree on when to take it off, and how to make your own.

If you’ve ever heard of Atokos, chances are it wasn’t for its beaches. What really steals the show are the wild pigs that stroll right up to the shoreline, snuffling around like they own the place. Tourists don’t come here just to swim—they come to see the boars wading through the shallows, nudging boats for snacks, and trotting along the sand as if they’re the unofficial locals. It’s equal parts surreal and hilarious, and honestly, it’s what makes this tiny Ionian island unforgettable.
