🌍 Poland has once again secured its place among the top-tier EU nations, achieving scores significantly above the OECD average, although Asian countries continue to dominate as the global leaders in the rankings.

📊 The latest edition of the PISA study reveals a troubling global trend: mathematics and reading are becoming increasingly challenging for young people. Experts frequently attribute this decline to the growing phenomenon of digital distraction and the excessive amount of screen time teenagers spend on mobile devices. Against this backdrop, however, Poland's performance remains highly stable. Following the declines recorded in 2022, the downward trend has halted, allowing Polish youth to maintain their position among Europe's leaders.

🇪🇺 Alongside Poland, the top ranks in the European Union are held by Estonia, Finland, Ireland, and Austria. Polish 15-year-olds performed exceptionally well in mathematics, trailing only Estonia within the EU. In science, they were surpassed by students from Estonia, Finland, Ireland, and Austria, while in reading, only Ireland and Estonia achieved better scores.

🌍 The PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) study, conducted periodically by the OECD, evaluates the core skills of 15-year-olds. In the newest report, Poland has once again secured its place among the top-tier EU nations, achieving scores significantly above the OECD average, although Asian countries continue to dominate as the global leaders in the rankings.

🇵🇱🇬🇷 The decision to recognize Greeks as Poland's 10th national minority stems from a Greek presence in the country dating back to the 14th century. However, the largest influx of Greeks to Poland occurred after the Greek Civil War (1946–1949). At that time, Poland took in Greek war refugees, many of whom were wounded soldiers, women, and children.

🏛️ Today, an estimated 6,000 Greeks live in Poland, having settled predominantly in the western part of the country, particularly in Silesia. With this official recognition, the Greek community will gain access to additional funding for cultural and linguistic development, the right to register their surnames in public records according to Greek linguistic tradition, and special legal protection.

📜 This landmark decision is the culmination of years of advocacy by the community. With their new status, Greeks join Armenians, Belarusians, Czechs, Germans, Jews, Lithuanians, Russians, Slovaks, and Ukrainians as Poland's officially recognized national minorities.

🤝 Poland and Greece have been steadily strengthening their bilateral cooperation for years. Despite the geographical distance, the two nations are bound not only by a shared history but also by modern-day solidarity. In recent years, this has been notably symbolized by Polish firefighters repeatedly deploying to battle wildfires in Greece, as well as the support provided by the Polish Border Guard during the migration crisis on the Greek-Turkish border. It is also worth noting that Polish-Greek economic ties continue to grow

🇵🇱 Poland is aiming to expand its footprint in international trade, with a particular focus on maritime commerce. The new Baltic port, Cape Pomerania (Przylądek Pomerania), where ground has just been broken, will provide the country with a state-of-the-art facility that will ultimately boost the nation's economic competitiveness.

⚓ Cape Pomerania is set to serve as a vital logistics hub for Poland and the wider Central and Eastern European region. The new terminal will be constructed on roughly 186 hectares of land reclaimed from the sea, boasting an annual handling capacity of up to 2 million TEUs. Valued at over $2.6 billion, the investment is designed to significantly elevate Poland's standing in global maritime trade.

🚢 Notably, expansion also continues at the Baltic Hub container terminal in Gdańsk, currently the largest and only deep-water terminal on the Baltic Sea capable of accommodating transoceanic vessels from the Far East. Much like the Cape Pomerania project, this development also relies on artificial land reclamation.

Η παρουσίαση των δυνατοτήτων του πολωνικού τομέα σύγχρονων χρηματοοικονομικών υπηρεσιών πραγματοποιήθηκε στην Αθήνα, στο πλαίσιο του 10ου συνεδρίου Payments 360. Η εκδήλωση περιλάμβανε ένα ειδικό πολωνικό πάνελ συζήτησης, ένα ενημερωτικό περίπτερο, καθώς και μια εκδήλωση δικτύωσης (networking) στην έδρα της Πολωνικής Πρεσβείας στην Αθήνα.

Το συνέδριο Payments 360, το οποίο διοργανώθηκε στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών, αποτελεί ένα από τα σημαντικότερα γεγονότα του κλάδου στη Νοτιοανατολική Ευρώπη. Τη σημασία του επιβεβαιώνει η συμμετοχή κορυφαίων αξιωματούχων, όπως ο Αντιπρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Κυβέρνησης, Κωστής Χατζηδάκης, και ο Υπουργός Εθνικής Οικονομίας και Οικονομικών, Κυριάκος Πιερρακάκης. Κεντρικό σημείο της παρουσίας των εκπροσώπων της πολωνικής χρηματοοικονομικής αγοράς ήταν το πάνελ με τίτλο «From BLIK to Agentic AI: How Poland became a Fintech Innovation Lab». Στη συζήτηση, την οποία συντόνισε ο Paweł Widawski, Αντιπρόεδρος του Fintech Poland, συμμετείχαν ο Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, Πρόεδρος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της BLIK (Polski Standard Płatności), και ο Mateusz Pniewski, Πρόεδρος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της TransactionLink. Η κοινή εμφάνιση υπό το ενιαίο σήμα «POLAND – Fintech Innovation Lab» επέτρεψε την αποτελεσματική προσέγγιση ενός μεγάλου κοινού πάνω από 450 υψηλόβαθμων συνέδρων και εδραίωσε την εικόνα της Πολωνίας ως ενός ώριμου κέντρου χρηματοοικονομικής καινοτομίας, το οποίο συνδιαμορφώνει ενεργά τις παγκόσμιες τάσεις. Οι δράσεις αυτές είχαν ως στόχο τη δημιουργία μόνιμων διαύλων επικοινωνίας με ελληνικά ιδρύματα και τοπικούς κλαδικούς φορείς, γεγονός που μακροπρόθεσμα θα διευκολύνει την επέκταση των πολωνικών εταιρειών.

Το δεύτερο μέρος της πρωτοβουλίας αποτέλεσε η εκδήλωση «Poland-Greece Fintech Bridge», η οποία έλαβε χώρα στην Πρεσβεία της Πολωνίας στην Αθήνα και έδωσε τη δυνατότητα σε εκπροσώπους και μέλη του Fintech Poland να πραγματοποιήσουν απευθείας και σε βάθος συνομιλίες με μια επιλεγμένη ομάδα Ελλήνων συναδέλφων τους.

Την πολωνική αποστολή αποτελούσαν εκπρόσωποι και μέλη του Fintech Poland, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των BLIK, TransactionLink, Autopay, Cleafy, Paymentology, Ebury, Billon, The Software House, Salv, καθώς και του Γραφείου Πιστωτικών Πληροφοριών (BIK).

Η προωθητική αυτή ενέργεια διοργανώθηκε στο πλαίσιο του Προγράμματος Προβολής της διπλωματικής αποστολής στην Αθήνα για το έτος 2026, βάσει της Συμφωνίας της 9ης Δεκεμβρίου 2020 για τη συνεργασία των πολωνικών διπλωματικών αποστολών κατά την υλοποίηση των καθηκόντων του αρμόδιου για την οικονομία υπουργού στον τομέα της προώθησης της πολωνικής οικονομίας στο εξωτερικό.
