ΤΙ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΟΙ STANDING STONES;
Μερικές από τις αρχαιότερες Standing Stones της Ευρώπης, βρίσκονται στην Σκωτία, καταγεγραμμένες σε 508 τοποθεσίες.
Ναι, σωστά διαβάσατε σε 508 τοποθεσίες.
Όταν οι πρώτοι άποικοι έφτασαν στη Σκωτία πριν από 10.000 χρόνια, άρχισαν να χτίζουν απίστευτα μνημεία, μερικά από τα οποία υπάρχουν ακόμη και σήμερα.
Ο σκοπός της ύπαρξης αυτών των λίθων σε κύκλο, είναι ένας προβληματισμός για τους σύγχρονους αρχαιολόγους. Αυτοί οι αρχαίοι χώροι μπορεί να παραμείνουν για πάντα μυστήριο.
Πιστεύεται ότι έχουν χρησιμοποιηθεί για θρησκευτικούς ή τελετουργικούς σκοπούς.
Αν αφήσετε τη φαντασία σας να σας πάει χιλιάδες χρόνια πίσω στο χρόνο, ίσως πάρετε απαντήσεις.
Υπάρχουν πολλά αρχαία μνημεία στη Σκωτία, το καθένα με μια ιστορία να πει. Στα νησιά Orkney και Shetland υπάρχει μεγάλος αριθμός τέτοιων λίθων σε κύκλο, όπως επίσης στις περιοχές Angus, Dumfries & Galloway και Argyll.
