XV Bonus Miles Flotilla | Leg 3
2 May – 9 May
From Lavrio to Preveza

The spring edition of the XV Bonus Miles Flotilla has officially come to an end, completing a remarkable sailing journey across some of Greece’s most iconic coastal landscapes and island destinations.

The third and final leg of the XV Bonus Miles Flotilla connected the Cyclades with the dramatic coastline and hidden gems of southern and western Peloponnese.

Departing from Lavrio, the fleet sailed south towards the historic fortress town of Monemvasia, where medieval scenery met the deep blue waters of the Aegean.

Continuing along the southern Peloponnese, the flotilla explored remote anchorages, open-sea passages and some of Greece’s most iconic sailing landscapes. The stop at Porto Kagio offered a true highlight of the route, surrounded by the wild beauty and authentic character of the Mani peninsula.

Sailing westward, the journey continued towards the Ionian Sea, reaching the legendary island of Ithaca, homeland of Odysseus and one of the most atmospheric sailing destinations in Greece.

The final passage led the fleet north to Preveza, where the XV Bonus Miles Flotilla officially concluded on May 9th, after completing a diverse route through the Aegean and Ionian seas.

In total, the third leg combined historic ports, southern Peloponnese exploration, open-water sailing and the unique transition between two of Greece’s most iconic sailing regions.

XV Bonus Miles Flotilla | Leg 2

23 April – 2 May
From Platanias Pelion to Lavrio

The second leg of the XV Bonus Miles Flotilla delivered a complete sailing experience across the Aegean Sea, connecting the lush green islands of the Sporades with the raw, iconic character of the Cyclades.

Departing from Platanias Pelion, the fleet sailed through Skiathos, Skopelos and Neo Klima (Elios), before continuing to Skyros, where the route opened into more demanding sea conditions.

Sailing south via Kymi, the flotilla transitioned from the protected waters of the Sporades to the more exposed and wind-driven environment of the central Aegean.

The arrival in Andros marked a key highlight of the journey, blending strong maritime heritage with authentic Cycladic character. From there, the fleet continued towards its final destination, reaching Lavrio on May 2nd.

In total, the flotilla covered over 200 nautical miles, combining sheltered cruising, open-sea passages and shifting wind conditions — a true expression of sailing in the Aegean.

Με επιτυχία ολοκληρώθηκε το πρώτο σκέλος της ΧV Bonus Miles Flotilla στον Πλατανιά,Πηλίου.

Στις 25 Απριλίου, πραγματοποιήθηκε το πρώτο σκέλος της XV Bonus Miles Flotilla, μια διοργάνωση του Ιστιοπλοϊκού Ομίλου Βορείου Αιγαίου (Ι.Ο.Β.Α.) και της UCaptain Academy, με την υποστήριξη της Northsailing και σε στρατηγική συνεργασία με την Athenian Yachts,η οποία κατέπλευσε στον Πλατανιά Πηλίου, συγκεντρώνοντας 70 ιστιοπλόους από οκτώ χώρες.

Η φλοτίλα απέπλευσε από την Κεραμωτή Kαβάλας ακολουθώντας μια εντυπωσιακή διαδρομή στο Βόρειο Αιγαίο που συνδύασε ανοιχτές θαλάσσιες διαδρομές και στάσεις σε εμβληματικούς νησιωτικούς προορισμούς. Συγκεκριμένα, το πρώτο σκέλος περιλάμβανε τους σταθμούς: Λιμενάρια – Μύρινα – Αλόννησος – Σκόπελος – Σκιάθος – Πλατανιάς, προσφέροντας στους συμμετέχοντες μια ολοκληρωμένη εμπειρία ιστιοπλοΐας.

Η συγκεκριμένη στάση αποτέλεσε μία από τις πιο ξεχωριστές στιγμές της διοργάνωσης, καθώς ο Πλατανιάς Πηλίου εντυπωσίασε τους επισκέπτες με την αυθεντικότητα και την παρθένα ομορφιά του.

Οι συμμετέχοντες είχαν την ευκαιρία να απολαύσουν εικόνες σπάνιας φυσικής ομορφιάς, παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική και μια αίσθηση αυθεντικότητας που παραμένει αναλλοίωτη στον χρόνο,σε συνδυασμό με τη γνήσια φιλοξενία των κατοίκων, ανέδειξαν τον Πλατανιά ως έναν ανεξερεύνητο «θησαυρό» του ελληνικού θαλάσσιου τουρισμού.

Θα θέλαμε να εκφράσουμε τις θερμές μας ευχαριστίες προς τον Δήμαρχο Νοτίου Πηλίου κ. Μιτζικό Μιχαήλ και τον Αντιδήμαρχο κ. Μανέτα Βασίλη για τη φιλοξενία και τη στήριξή τους στην υλοποίηση της δράσης, καθώς και προς τους επαγγελματίες της περιοχής του οικισμού Πλατανιά για την άψογη εξυπηρέτηση, τη συμβολή τους στην τοπική εμπειρία και τη θερμή υποδοχή των συμμετεχόντων.

Η διοργάνωση συνεχίζεται, με τη φλοτίλα να κατευθύνεται προς το νότιο Αιγαίο, ενισχύοντας τη δυναμική της ιστιοπλοΐας ως μέσου τουριστικής ανάπτυξης και βιωματικής εμπειρίας στο ελληνικό θαλάσσιο τοπίο.

The journey of the XV Bonus Miles Flotilla – Leg 1 is in full progress, bringing together nearly 100 participants — students, instructors, and sea enthusiasts — in a truly immersive sailing experience across the North Aegean.

Departing from Keramoti, our fleet follows an extended training route, combining offshore passages, island hopping, and real sailing conditions.

Keramoti → Limenaria → Myrina → Alonissos → Skopelos → Skiathos → Platanias

Spring sailing in Greece is not just about the miles — it’s about the moments in between.

The Educational XV Flotilla – Bonus Miles has officially set sail! ⛵

Starting from Keramoti on April 18th, our journey began with enthusiasm, teamwork, and a shared passion for the sea. Our first stop was Limenaria, Thassos, followed by a longer passage to Myrina, Limnos. From there, we continued towards the stunning waters of Alonissos, and yesterday we arrived in beautiful Skopelos. Today, we set course for our next destination: Skiathos.

Throughout the entire journey, this has been far more than just a sailing trip. It has been a true hands-on educational experience. Our crew has been actively training in real conditions — working with wind, sails, maneuvers, navigation, and teamwork in open sea environments.

All training is conducted under the guidance of our instructors Christoforos Gkritzelakis and Panagiotis Vafias, delivering the NASC courses throughout the flotilla.

From trimming sails and steering under varying wind conditions, to anchoring, route planning, and onboard coordination — every mile has been a lesson. This is what real sailing is about: learning by doing, adapting, and becoming confident at sea.

The Educational Flotilla is not just about destinations — it’s about the journey, the experience, and the skills gained along the way.
