Last year Singing Streets co-founder Worth Wagers was vacationing in Crete and realised that Matala, where Joni Mitchell lived in a cave and wrote parts of her masterpiece 'Blue', was only a short drive away.

Joni stayed here in Matala, Crete and dated Cary Raditz, who was a cook at The Mermaid Cafe, which inspired her amazing song Carey.

Have a look, the new location of the cafe is featured in this short video and the winds are in from Africa - literally.

The latest version of Singing Streets, available from today to download for free from the App Store, contains hundreds of music related locations in the Birmingham area.

Birmingham is, of course, home to Black Sabbath, and among the many Sabbath locations to be found in the app are the houses where all four members grew up, where they played their first and last gigs (and many in-between) and the Black Sabbath Bridge, site of a beautiful tribute to Ozzy Osbourne.
