Ship departs once up to twice a day from Ouranoupolis port, right next to the “gates” of Holy Mount Athos. In 15 minutes reach the first Russian cloister and after sailing by unique beaches, it arrives in the area of the first monastery, Iera Moni Dochiariou and follows other 7 monasteries, as well as the Holy Mount’s central port, Daphni, and finally the clo

isters, small villages, where groups of monks live in every house. During the cruise visitors have the chance to admire the untouched nature and the unique architecture of Mount Athos monasteries. There is an audio guide tour in different languages (Greek, English, Russian, Serbian, Polish, Bulgarian and German). In these beautiful calm turquoise waters you will see very often dolphins to follow the ship. There is a restaurant, a bar and a small exhibition of souvenirs in the ship. There is also the possibility after agreement of pilgrimage of holy remnants during the cruise.

Let me tell you something dangerous in a rescue operation: sometimes it’s not the sea — it’s misinformation.
The next day after we assisted passengers from a boat that had run aground, reports claimed our vessel was the one that grounded.
That’s why our work isn’t only about handling incidents at sea — it’s also about staying calm, documenting facts, and issuing official corrections when needed.

On our route from Ormos Panagias to Ammouliani (Halkidiki), we encountered a waterspout — an impressive sea-weather phenomenon. 🌪️🌊
A waterspout doesn’t automatically mean danger for a vessel, but it always requires proper handling: we keep a safe distance, monitor its direction and movement, and study the wind carefully.
This one did not affect our course or our passengers’ comfort — it was simply one of those rare sights you never forget.

When approaching a port, my priority is always a safe approach and safe berthing, so every detail matters. Flags on moored vessels reveal wind direction, anchored vessels can hint at current, and for unfamiliar ports the seabed profile is important — especially for anchoring. Finally, the assigned berth must be clear and have bollards ready for mooring. ⚓️✅
