Drink local, choose tap 💧
Like many of you on the island, we’ve always wanted to know the truth about our tap water - is it safe to drink?
🔍 So we started investigating… and we’re pleased to say a big, loud “YES” - the tap water on Paros is absolutely safe to drink!
We know this because we conducted a thorough, independent investigation into water quality. We found that Paros tap water is consistently good quality and safe to drink – everywhere on the island, and at any time of year.
These findings are backed up by the DEYAP – the island’s water company. Their testing shows that the tap water on Paros is safe to drink, and well within the EU’s legal limits. You can find this information on their website – here: https://tinyurl.com/paroswatertests
For a long time, doubts about the safety of our tap water have meant people have ‘played it safe’ and drunk bottled water. As a result, thousands of plastic water bottles are used and discarded each year, many end up littering our beautiful beaches. 🏝
As part of our joined efforts with DEYAP to radically reduce plastic waste on Paros, we have launched a communication campaign to spread the word – !
Over the next few weeks, we’ll share more information so you can make more informed choices about your water and plastic consumption. 🙏Ultimately, we hope this research will radically reduce the number of plastic bottles used on Paros.
