European Creative Hubs Network

European Creative Hubs Network ECHN is a peer-led network on a mission to enhance the creative, economic & social impact of hubs

Creative Hubs have become new models for creative enterprises to grow, and invaluable mechanisms of change and assets to the creative sector. Creative hubs are uniquely diverse in structure, sector and services, qualifying them as a great driver for growth, competitiveness and innovation in the creative industries. They range from collective and co-operative, to labs and incubators; and can be sta

tic, mobile or online. In addition to encouraging collaboration, generating distinctive cultural practice, and offering much needed exhibition and events space, they also bring added value to agendas in regeneration, tourism, inward investment and education. The European Creative Hubs Network (ECHN) aims to:
• create a community of experienced creative hubs leaders across Europe
• enhance the ecosystem that supports the resilience and growth of the creative hubs sector
• promote creative hubs as innovative models to European policy makers and funders

Creative hubs managers from Europe and beyond will be able to:
• connect with peers and gain access to a community of hubs
• visit inspiring creative hubs across Europe
• exchange best practice and strengthen skills
• learn about successful and sustainable business models

Say 'Hello!' to our new member, the smallest Hub in Italy: La Finestra Community Hub! 🇮🇹 👋🏽

La Finestra is a project by Itinerari Paralleli ETS that transformed the ancient Tower of the medieval village of Casertavecchia (abandoned since the 1980s) into a Community Hub to enhance the uniqueness of a marginalised context, co-designing activities with organisations, artists, researchers, activists and citizens.

The space "La Finestra" offers: an info-point for the promotion of cultural and environmental tourism in the area; a small emporium with publications dedicated to families, travellers and products from the Slow Food and Slow Wine circuit in the area; the ‘suspended keys’ service of free rental of the space; an annual cultural programme and "Chimera Fest", a boutique festival that in September proposes a mixed arts programme linked to the themes of sustainability and cultural accessibility.

Welcome to the family!

We need your input!
The Greening the Hubs project (from our members Dumbo Bologna Kaapelitehdas Transfolab BCN ) is currently scouting the medium to large Creative Hubs around Europe on their challenges in sustainability practices. Your voice matters and this would mean a major contribution!

As part of the Greening the Hubs project, driving meaningful change starts with understanding the current landscape. That’s why they have launched a new survey focused on the sustainability practices of cultural and creative hubs.
This effort goes beyond simply mapping existing initiatives—it aims to uncover the key barriers organizations face, the digital tools they rely on (or lack), and the broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues shaping their operations.

Say 'Hello!' to our new member: Sende, from Spain! 👋🏽 🇪🇸 🌳

Sende is one of the world’s first rural coworking and coliving spaces, located in a tiny Spanish village with more cows than people. 🐄
Since 2013, they've been turning abandoned stone houses into places where creatives, educators, and remote workers come to live, create, and build things that matter.

Their mission? Keeping villages alive through technology, education, creativity, and culture. From social entrepreneurship and innovation to peacebuilding and conflict transformation, they’re proving that important work doesn’t only happen in big cities.

It’s about keeping forgotten places on the map. And making sure the right people find them. 💫

Welcome to ECHN!
