A great idea for a morning walk from Plakias is to the beautiful, one of a kind Agios Paisios chapel, where they almost finished a new addition. The views from the chapel are no less than spectacular.

Kalo mina! Wishing you all a great month!
These words mean even more today than they normally do.
First of all I want to wish the families and friends of the lost firefighters and the people who lost their house a lot of strenght.
Secondly I want correct a few things about how this was and is shown on social media. No, not the whole of Crete is on fire and no Plakias is not on fire. The firefighters and all the locals with their trucks loaded with water have fought hard and have the situation under control. The loss of a part of the Preveli Palm Forest is tragic and heartbreaking, but Plakias remains a great destination for your holiday. The beaches, the sea and the sun are still there and there is still so much to see. So there is no need to cancel your holiday or not booking a last minute, it would just be another hit for the local community.
