The First Turtle Nest has Arrived in Rethymno! 🐢
Great news for our local nature! Yesterday, the first Caretta caretta nest of the year was spotted and safely protected on our beach. This means the 2026 nesting season has officially begun in Rethymno!
Rethymno’s sandy shores are a vital nursery for these endangered sea turtles. As they visit us from May through August, let’s show them the best Cretan hospitality by keeping their "home" safe.
