🌟 Friends of Pefkos Meet-Up! 🌟

Come and join Emma, Chris, Tracy & Pefkos Sue for a night full of fun, laughter and great company! Whether you’re looking to catch up with old friends or make brand-new ones, this is the perfect chance to do it.

📍 Where? They will kick things off at Happy Friends at 7:30pm on Saturday 27th September.

🍹 What? A fun evening of bar-hopping – we’ll wander through different bars together and see where the night takes us and to meet up with fellow members 🥳

Everyone is welcome – whether you’re a regular or just curious about the Friends of Pefkos vibe.

With the exception of a few places that are still operating in Pefkos, another great season has come to a close. Our group has had a great year of growth and we’ve seen much less drama in comparison to previous summers.
We have taken the opportunity this year to grow our website and specifically our resort guide. In trying to keep our group a hub of conversation, sharing memories and advice, we have developed the resort guide to assist member from a practical view point. We believe it has worked well with a reduction in space in the group taken up with repeat questions. We also believe this offers businesses a fairer and more equal opportunity to attract custom from our members.

As Admin, we continue to commit a great deal of our personal time to the group, and it remains our pleasure to do so. However, we have started to put more firm boundaries in place which has helped us to juggle our own lives, jobs and families with the running of the group. Remaining present as Admin is important to us, but we have all prioritised balance in this regard.

We must thank our group experts Lee Grant, Sue Jobling and Louise Metullari, who have supported us massively throughout the season and contributed so much to the group and our members. You are a valuable part of our group and we really appreciate you being here.

We would also like to thank the businesses that play an active role in the group, and we wish all of the workers and staff a relaxing winter with family and friends.

Finally, we would like to thank all of our members who make FOP the fantastic, friendly community that it has grown to be.

The group will of course continue to operate over the winter and we would encourage our members to continue to chat, share and post in the group all things Pefkos and Rhodes related.

WE HAVE HAD AN UNBELIEVABLE RESPONSE TO OUR FOP 2025 CALENDAR PREORDER, SELLING ALMOST 100 CALENDARS IN THE FIRST 48 HOURS !!!

But we still have a minimum number to reach before the order can go in so we will keep pushing the sales. Just a reminder that we aim to get calendars out by November, making them perfect Christmas gifts 🎁

✨Kitlers Legacy✨

In light of the sad passing of our beloved Kitler yesterday, we have been asked by both members of FOP and Rhodes Strays to organise an official collection towards a permanent memorial within the resort.

Kitler was a fixture in Pefkos for over 15 years and even after his retirement, he continued to entertain us with his antics. The outpouring of love and affection for Kitler is such a heartwarming reflection of the kind nature of our visitors towards our feline friends.

After discussions with Rhodes Strays, and considering the hundreds of visitors who had selfies with Kitler, we would like to create a memorial statue of Kitler that people can continue to have a picture with along with a permanent and secure collection box, so that Kitler’s legacy will live on in continuing to feed and care for the strays of Pefkos.

We haven’t decided anything firmly and will also need to seek the appropriate permission in order to make this happen. The starting point will be to raise money to see what we have to work with. If you would like to make a donation towards Kitler’s legacy, you can do so here:

We have some sad news to share with you today. Our old boy of Pefkos, the legend that is Kitler, purred his last purr this morning and crossed rainbow bridge.

Despite facing health issues in his twilight years, he has always rallied and has lived a peaceful, if not somewhat spoiled retirement, with the love and care of Andrea at Rhodes Strays. Just last week he was receiving visitors, playing and of course being mischievous. This morning, he decided, in typical Kitler fashion, he was going to go his own way. He passed peacefully, purring away, whilst being comforted by Andrea. He was not in pain but it was clear to her, that he was ready.

This old boy has touched the lives of so many by just being himself, making it clear that Pefkos was HIS territory, but he was ok with visitors and was even happy to pose with the starstruck amongst us. But he has also become an icon and thousands of euros have been raised, by the awareness that he has created for the stray cat community of Pefkos.

He will always remain an Icon to us and is symbolic of not only the beautiful creatures that grace our beloved Pefkos, but also the love and care that is showered upon them by locals and visitors.

Rest in peace old boy, hope you find a great sunbed to poach x
