There is nothing to beat eating by the sea with this great view from the square in Amaliapoli. It's a pity it gets so busy in August. Why not try visiting in September when the sea is still warm and you won't struggle to get a table?

Beautiful full moon here. It was exceptional as the moon and earth were closer than normal. It is also known as a 'blue Moon' because the pattern of days in a year means there are 13 full Moons instead of the usual 12. Despite its name, the phenomenon has nothing to do with colour - it gets its name because it does not fall in the usual scheme of named Moons. The photo does not really do it justice.

At the side of the beach these beautiful flowers are blooming now. Their vivid colour contrasts wonderfully with the blue of the sea. Time to come and see them?
