Built astride a huge gash in the mountains carved out by the Río Guadalevín, Ronda is a brawny town with a dramatic history littered with outlaws, bandits, guerrilla warriors, and rebels. Its spectacular location atop El Tajo gorge and its status as the largest of Andalucía’s white towns have made it hugely pop**ar with tourists – particularly notable when you consider its relatively modest size. Modern bullfighting was practically invented here in the late 18th century, and the town’s fame was spread further by its close association with American Europhiles Ernest Hemingway (a lover of bullfighting) and Orson Welles (whose ashes are buried in the town).

Strasbourg is a great place to visit in spring. Located in Eastern France, not far from the border with Germany, the capital of Alsace and the Grand Est region has beautiful architecture, interesting museums, and a good choice of hotels and restaurants.

Also, Strasbourg is an excellent base for exploring the picturesque villages of Alsace and other exciting sites nearby on day trips.

In spring, the temperature in Strasbourg is ideal, before it gets too hot in June. Also, spring is a quiet time to visit the city before the summer crowds arrive.

The list of best things to do in Strasbourg includes the gothic cathedral of Notre Dame de Strasbourg, the picturesque neighborhood of La Petite France, the European neighborhood, the History Museum of Strasbourg.

If the weather is good, climb up to the tower of Notre Dame for the best view of Strasbourg. When the sky is clear, it is possible to see also the Black Forest in Germany! Spring is also a good time for a boat tour through the Ill River or a bike tour.

On summer nights everyone gravitates to the wide seaside promenade lined with bars, cafes, and yachts, leaving the knotted, mazelike marble streets gleaming mysteriously under old-fashioned streetlights.

The old town has retained many intact and beautiful buildings from its age of glory between the 13th and 15th centuries. In 1997 its profuse collection of Romanesque and Renaissance buildings earned it World Heritage status.
