Camionetas are the buses of Guatemalan public transport. They are former US school buses re-built and customized for bumpy Guatemalan roads.

Guatemala is an incredibly green country due to the combination of lots of rain and intense sunshine. Depending on the region you're visiting the sky might be covered in grey clouds or give clear sight on some volcanoes, like the Volcan San Pedro in the picture.

Monterrico is in our opinion the best pacific beach to spend some nights (unless you seek parties, then El Paredon might suit you better).

The grey volcanic sand can get very hot even before noon. Make sure you wear sandals and are using sun lotion.
